Nathula Pass Gateway to kailash Mansarovar - Nathu La Mountain Pass in Sikkim India

Nathula is a mountain pass in the Himalayas. It connects the Indian state of Sikkim with China's Tibet Autonomous Region. Nathula Highway is one of the most beautiful mountain roads of the world. It is nearly, 70 kms from Gangtok, Sikkim. Nathula Pass is a mountain pass in Eastern Sikkim, on the Indo Chinese border that serves as the trade link between India and China.

Indian Yatri would be able to visit Kailash Mansarovar in the Tibetan Autonomous Region of China through the new route of Nathula in Sikkim from next year. Now the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra will be conducted through Nathula in addition to the existing Lipulekh Pass in Uttarakhand.

The route through Nathula will reduce the Suffering and journey time for many more pilgrims, in particular aged pilgrims, to undertake the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra. India and China had signed a bilateral agreement on the Nathula route on September 18 this year. This agreement were done during Prime Minister Narendra Modi were gone to China Tour.

Nathula route is usually open from March to November; the Lipulekh route is only open for four months in a year from June to September. The Nathula route is considered a comparatively easier route from the existing routes like Uttarakand and Nepal.

The new route Nathu la route will allow pilgrims to be driven all along, travelling first from Gangtok in Sikkim to Shigatse in Tibet. From where they can take vans and buses on the existing road to Mansarovar and Kailash directly.

Nathula Pass experiences heavy snowfall during winter. The temperature of the region may drop down to 25 degree Celsius. If you are fond of snow, you must visit Nathula Pass in winter with proper garments.

May to middle of November is the summer time in Nathula, when the temperature ranges around 10 degree Celsius. The sight of the snow capped mountains and snow covered valleys on all sides will make you feel out of the world.
