New SIX National Highways Declared in Gujarat India in October 2014
The Government of India has declared six state highways as national highways in length of approx. 805 Km, said Mr. Nitinbahi Patel. Nitinbhai Patel is a minister of Medical education and Health and Family in Gujarat government.
The route from Somnath to other Saurashtra cities, south-north Gujarat’s 805 Km long state highways are declared to be a national highway. All these state highways will be developed as a national highway to create easy road transportation and regional small towns can get new opportunities. After this development, the maintenance of highways will be responsibility of the central government.
Here firstly the route from Bhavnagar-Somnath National Highway 8-E will be completed and Government of India will give approx. Rs 904.64 Crore. The route Mahuva-Una for 81 Km is provided with Rs. 685.54 Crore. So the national highway joining bhavnmagar-somnath, veraval of length 277 Km will be undertaken first and it will cost around Rs 2415 Crore.
Here is a list of State highways which are converted to national highways:
Radhanpur, Kamalpur, Khakhal, Roda, Dunavada, Patan, Chansma, Mehsana, Kherva, Gojariya, Sama, Churada, Kuvadra- 165 Km
Bhimasar Junction- Anjar, Bhuj, Khavda, Dharmshala- 163.7 Km
Limbdi Junction-Surendranagar, and Dhrangadhra-kunda – 85.59 Km
Mahuva Junction-Savarkundla, Amreli, Bagasara, and Jetpur- 181.20 Km
Aahva-Songadh, Sarad, Vani and Pipal-Basvant of Maharashtra state- 106 Km
Dhoraji- Kalawad, Jamnagar- 103.09 Km
These areas are not under taken any development so after this project these areas can get new opportunities for industry and business.
