FORD India Inaugurated New Manufacturing Plant in Sanand Gujarat on 26th March 2015
Ford India recently inaugurated its new plant at Sanand in Gujarat. The new plant in Sanand Gujarat will be one of the most heavily automated plants in Asia. The factory is inaugurated on 26th March 2015, Thursday.
Ford Motors India President and CEO Mark Field had opened the heavily automated plant in Sanand Gujarat. Gujarat CM Anandiben Patel was also present at the inauguration event of Ford’s new plant.

New Plant of Ford Motors will start production of first car from Ford Figo Aspire. As per Ford CEO, they are doubling manufacturing capacity in India with creating good jobs and serving customers with great products. Sanand is becoming auto hub and thus Gujarat. Sanand is developing as auto hub as Maruti, Tata and Chevrolet also have their plants in Sanand.
The vehicle manufacturing plant will have an initial installed annual capacity of 240,000 units, while the engine plant will have an initial installed annual capacity of 270,000 engines. The new plant will have capacity of 2500 employees.

The paint facility at Sanand will use Ford's innovative three-wet paint process that allows three coats of paint to be applied and dried simultaneously. The energy efficient process significantly reduces wastage, energy consumption and helps in lowering paint shop carbon-dioxide emissions by up to 25%.
Gujarat is the first place to gain access to other ports for exports, Gujarat’s infrastructure, easy employment available and Government’s incentives. Ford would introduce three new cars in the upcoming 12 to 18 months.
So it is good news for Gujarat as the new plant of Ford Motors will bring employment and export business.
