Vraj Yatra (also known as Braj Yatra or Brajbhoomi) is a region mainly in Uttar Pradesh of India, around Mathura-Vrindavan. Braj Yatra though never a obviously defined supporting region in India, Braj Yatra is very well demarcated culturally. Vraj Yatra is considered to be the land of Krishna and is derived from the Sanskrit word vraja. The main cities in the Vaishnav region are Mathura, Bharatpur, Agra, Dholpur and Aligarh.
Braj yatra is organized every year 10 days before holi by Salilji, many of trust provide the whole Braj yatra 2013 is free of cost with food & cover for 10 days. Schedule of Braj Yatra 2013 has not be finalized yet.
The residents or natives of Braj are called Brijwasi. Braj bhasha or Brij bhasha, closely related to spoken Hindi with a soft accent is spoken throughout the region.Varj Yatra is famous for Braj Yatra sweets and Chaat. Pede from Mathura,Petha from Agra, maal puye from Nauhjheel, Soan halwa from Raya , chamcham from Iglas, Boora & Batasa from Hathras and Milkcake from Bajna are famous throughout India. Braj Yatra in Hathras is also known for its sindoor.
