Famous Largest & Biggest Camel Animal Fair in Rajasthan India is PUSHKAR

One of the famous and biggest camel animal fair is organized every year in Pushkar of Rajasthan. Pushkar mela is held every year in Karthik month. This year Pushkar mela will be held from 30th October to 6th November 2014.

Pushkar fair has always been the region's central cattle market for local herdsmen and farmers of Rajasthan,who buy and sell camels , horses and indigenous breeds of cattle. Pushkar mela is now one of Asia’s largest cattle fairs. 

The animals are decorated by their owners. During the Pushkar fair, many camel, horse and donkey races and contests take place among loud cheers from the spectators. These contests and competitions are organised in the huge, specially-built amphitheatre on the outskirts of the town, A festive, carnival atmosphere prevails in Pushkar during the fair's two-week duration.
