Kailash Mansarovar Yatra Itinerary - Day wise Itinerary of Kailash Mansarovar Yatra by Land

The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra takes normally 28 days. Of these, 11 days yatra is in Indian side and rest days of the yatra are in Chine side. The trekking starts on 4th day on the Indian side. Indian authorized management makes arrangements to provide accommodation, transportation and food on the Indian side of the Yatra. Where as Chinese authorized management makes arrangement for accommodation, logistics and other arrangements on the Chine side.

Day wise itinerary for Kailash Mansarovar Yatra Pilgrimage :

DAY - 01

Arrival Kathmandu

Arrival at Kathmandu International Airport and transfer to your prebooked Hotel. Overnight stay at Kathmandu Hotel.

DAY - 02

Kathmandu Temples Visit, Sightseeing & Packing

This Half Day of sightseeing of Pashupathinath Temple, Gruheshwari Devi (Shaktipith), Boudhanath Temple (Sleeping Vishnu) Darshan, In the evening back to hotel and rest of the day is free for Yatra Preparation. Overnight at Hotel Kathmandu.

DAY - 03

Drive to Kodari and Nyalam

Drive to Kodari (Nepal-China border 4 hrs). After processing of Visa formalities of both countries of Nepal and China border, you will be transferred from mini-coach to your Tibetan Guide and Land Cruiser. Then proceed to Nyalam 54 kms - 1 hour. Overnight stay at Hotel.

DAY - 04

In Nyalam for Aclimatization

In Nyalam, Entire day free for acclimatization, excursion. Short treks will be taken in preparation for the Kailash Yatra. Overnight stay at Hotel.

Kailash Mansarovar Yatra from Ahmedabad

Day - 05

Nyalam - Saga 4450 mtr

First long drive over the sandy and rocky land of Tibet, other things like lake, nomads chasing thousands of yaks and sheep keeping you busy.

Day - 06

Drive Saga to Chui Gompa Lake Mansarovar

Passing through many villages and camps of yak herders, Far south you can see snow capped mountain peaks, Most of the time you will be driving on plains, hence a comfortable drive.  On this day the road is quite flat, hence the drive will be comfortable compared to other days.

Day - 07

Lake Mansarovar

Mansarovar the highest lake of fresh water with turquoise complexion in the world is full of fishes and swans. The region is considered rich for gold and other mines, hot springs and hundreds of wild living creaures. Night will be spending at Chu Gumba. Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.

Day - 08

Drive to Darchen

Darchen is located beneath the majestic holy Mount Kailash, a small village with couple of guesthouses. During the auspicious pilgrimage time, this place will be flooded with Pilgrims with hundreds of tents all around.

Day - 09

Drive to Tarboche  & trek to Dirapuk

drive approx. 13 Kms. to Tarboche, the trek starting point of Kailash Parikrama. Tarboche is also known as the outer "Asthapath". The first day of our Kora is a gradual walk with multitudes of other local pilgrims chanting and praying.

Day - 10

Parikrama over Dolma La Pass to Zuthul Phuk

Today is the most difficult day of the trek. Once you reach the top, just do the holiest offering and sit down for meditation to forget yourself. Once your steps go down, Parvati-stal and Gauri Kunda are on the way. By late afternoon you will arrive Zuthulpuk.

 Day - 11

Zuthulphuk to Darchen Trek

A married elderly couple supervises the temple, which is usually an lively residence for over half a dozen Tibetan devotees, helper, or relatives who incessantly busy themselves with the tasks of maintaining the buildings.

Day - 12

Drive to Paryang

Drive downward to Zhangmu & Friendship Bridge where transport awaits for our final leg of journey to Kathmandu (150 Kms)/ 8 - 9 Hrs. Overnight at Hotel Shankar Or Similar.

Day - 13
Fly back to your home with memories of Mount Kailash & Holy Lake Mansarovar.
